I watched Paralleles. Was on my saved list for a while, but finally got around to it. Liked, but didn’t love it. With that said hope there is a second season…though my gut says no.

I made sure to watch in the native French. I will watch in the actual language and not dubbed, even if the dub cast does a good job…its not the same. I don’t mind reading captions/subtitles anyways.

Though he was a minor character I found the police detective pretty cute and wanted to see if anything else that I might be able to see and now I’m watching French Netflix Original The Hook Up Plan. In French its called something else but I am too lazy to look it up. I am enjoying it, though the little I have seen people have said… first season amazing, second season meh, and third season wtf?!

Stelle looked at the exchange between Hook and Fersman. She can't help but feel light seeing them smiling happily. Perhaps monetary gains drove her to help most of the Belobog citizens, but she can't help but make an exception for little Hook.

Seeing them had made for an interesting observation.

'A father, huh.' She wondered, 'Is this family love? Something that can drive you to go above and beyond for the other person? Even though it was all for naught in the end?'

Although Stelle had only begun to exist, she had enough knowledge to get by the world around her. Even so, she has yet to experience a lot of things a human would go through.

After lingering on the thought for a while, she came to a simple conclusion, 'I don't think I'll ever know what having a parental figure feels like.'

Perhaps Kafka counted in some respect, since she is the one who pushed the stellaron inside Stelle. But perhaps all she is to her is just a variable. Towards whatever unfathomable future "Destiny's Slave" has foreseen.

Her thoughts drifted to Kafka's words, "... You'll meet companions who treat you like family, and embark on surreal adventures with them. This is your future that Elio has foreseen."

Did she consider the Astral Express her family? She isn't sure. While they are kind and understanding, it feels like they still have walls put up around them. It probably doesn’t help that her… tendencies tend to repulse the people around her, she thought sheepishly.

‘I am good at my job, and I’m fairly certain the Astral Express won’t kick me out, at least.’

… Maybe Pompom would kick her out, on second thought. They were appalled when she had come covered in sweat and grime and tracked dirt all over the parlor car. That day still made her shiver.

Shaking her head, she looked back at the duo who were beginning to call her over.

The future certainly seems unfathomable.

OMG intersex Moonpaw with a cleft lip???

I just used it as an example because cleft lips and palates are a really good example of the quirks of bilateral symmetry, BUT I do actually have a cleft lip in BB LMAO

It's Lizardstripe because she got a glow up in BB, is one of the smartest and most competent background characters in the rewrite, and has an expanded friendship with both Bluestar and Yellowfang. I gave her a cleft lip because unironically it is such a cool feature and it deserves a million examples of positivity.

Her son Deerfoot also got it, he also got a glowup as a TigerClan rebel.

I should give it to more cats honestly... and more lip features in general. I love you people whose lips naturally curl above the teeth. I love you people with cleft lips, both severe and minor. I love you people who have had mouth surgery and have visible scars.

Saw your "Yutu judging Yuu's taste" ask and thought about Rollo!Yutu being especially judgy about his parents taste in men. At the ball after the whole Fire Flower Fiasco, he tries gently broaching the subject with Yuu only for them to look at him like this

"What, you think just because this twerp thinks Im special for being magicless I can overlook him trying to start WWV"? Which only confuses Yutu more because he's here, isn't he???

(Bonus points, if you don't count the Groovification Card lines as canon, then the only student to ask Yuu to dance at the ball is Azul. Imagine Yutu trying to digest the type of man his father is while watching his other parent dance in the arms of Azul freaking Ashengrotto).

He's watching his hands just waiting for him to be aborted from the timeline because clearly he messed up somehow, when in actuality his parents romance is a slow burn enemies to lovers fic that starts years later, like, during the apprenticeship in Senior Year/After Rollo gets counselling for his brothers death.

*Bonus bonus point, I imagine Rollo!yutu's real name is Rollo's brothers'name. Yuu can't remember why it eas so important to name their kid that, just that it was.

That bonus point is totally true, we don't know what Rollo's bother's name is but in the book it's Jehan/Jean and that does sound like a fitting name for Rollo! Yutu. Jean likes knowing that his name was important somehow, it gives him a connection to his father that he desperately wants. Doubly so when he's at NRC and no one knows anything about him because he went to a different school. He wonders what they would have had to say if they knew the truth... seeing Yuu dance with Azul doesn't help. Seeing them dismiss Rollo outright makes him lethargic, wondering if there's anything he can do to prevent the bad future before he ceases to exist. Should he try telling Idia what's up before he dies? He doesn't know anymore...

The idea of Yuu and Rollo's relationship being a slow burn is not something I have played with before? As I am thinking about it now, the idea of Rollo having a strong instantaneous attraction to Yuu that he swallows in favor of his world ending plan, only for it to be all that he's left with is sweet in a diabolical way? Maybe he tries to learn how to use magicam in the hopes of talking with them and then he feels stupid about it because he sucks at it, but then Yuu actually starts talking to him? Maybe Yuu just wants to encourage him to seek help, and they still do that, but they really like talking to him and appreciate how aware he is of their struggles. Maybe Rollo talks to the magicless people of his city and forwards their advice, anything to get to know them better. Yuu leans back and thinks about what Yutu asked or implied and has the unfortunate realization all on their own that maybe their taste in men is bad... and desperately brushes it off as him being just a... good unique friend? Something they denied all the way up until they were doing an internship in the City of Flowers and were meeting up for coffee every single morning in a way they couldn't pretend weren't dates. Who knows how long Rollo cultivated those flowers, Yuu is something he's willing to cultivate a lot longer.

In the original timeline anyway, who knows about this one (｀ω´)

Lucid Dreamer (2/2)

part 1

Gepard stalls almost a week before he finally goes out to the safehouse, and it takes him a couple days to find it because Sampo didn't have the time left to be wasn't super specific about the location. But he does find it.

It's pretty bare bones, really. Gepard knows that was probably to be expected, but… It feels crushing, when he realizes there are so few personal things here. It's nothing specific to Sampo. Just some food, some medical supplies. A cot and a heater and a lot of mismatched blankets. Nothing to remember someone by.

But he does find the letters, in a metal box stashed away under the bed.

There are two for him. Three for Natasha, and two for Seele. One for Hook, one for Serval, one for Pela, one for Bronya.

Bronya's is mostly business. They knew each other from the whole Stellaron incident, but not much beyond that, and the incoming catastrophe is a more pressing matter. Seele's is actually two copies of the same letter, and Gepard realizes why when Seele is so angry she rips the first one up without reading it. He gives her the copy a couple days later, and she slinks off without a word.

Pela seems completely normal after hers is delivered, but Gepard knows better than to trust that. The next day, he finds her asleep in bed with Serval, bottles abandoned on the floor, both their eye makeup smeared and running and Pela's glasses horribly smudged and crooked on her face. Serval doesn't read hers in front of him, but she's clingy with Gepard, Pela, and Lynx for quite a while after. She throws herself into her work a lot. She insists the heater from the safehouse is busted and she needs to keep it. It's too dangerous for use by someone who's not an engineer. Might burn their house down or something. Gepard doesn't argue.

Hook's letter is short, with easy to read words. The rest of it is actually a treasure map, and she and the moles spend the next several days running through the Underground, finding hidden candy and toys. Hook asks them when Sampo is coming back, because one of the marbles she found from his map looks green, just like his eyes, and she wants to give it to him. Natasha shoos Gepard out of the clinic before he can even begin to think of an answer.

Natasha refuses to let him see what's in her letters, which ok, fine, he'll respect that. He hears from Bronya who heard from Seele who heard from Natasha herself though that one of the letters was a map and the other a catalogue, with all of Sampo's hidden "warehouses." Gepard promptly marches himself back out to the frontlines, where he can turn a blind eye. If a ton of stolen goods suddenly enters the black market, and if the orphanage and the clinic suddenly have new supplies, well, technically that's none of his business.

Gepard goes to bed, curls up under mismatched blankets and closes his eyes.

He doesn't dream.

One of Gepard's letters was also business, like Bronya's and Natasha's. He and Bronya follow everything meticulously, down to the letter, because there has to be some good to get out of all this, there has to be. Gepard can't let it all be for nothing, it would bury him.

And so the catastrophe passes. Not without casualties, and not without a lot of damage and destruction. But Belobog survives.

And after that, time just kind of…goes on. Gepard has been a part of the Silvermanes since he was old enough to enlist. The Fragmentum had gotten so much worse in the years before Welt sealed the Stellaron. He knows the statistics, it is literally his and Pela's jobs to keep track. He knows when he sees a face everyday in the camps and then it's suddenly gone. He's not unfamiliar with things like grief and loss.

He still catches himself checking the trashcans and the supply crates and soldiers' footprints sometimes, though.

But there comes a night where Gepard goes to bed, holding the mismatched blankets to his face, and he dreams. And it's strange, it's off, it sticks with him. Sampo doesn't look the same. He's thinner. His muscles have atrophied. He looks like how Gepard has seen soldiers after months in the hospital.

The most unsettling difference is there's a scar across the left side of his head, Gepard can see it over his ear, peeking out past his hairline, carving towards his cheek. Sampo is always careful about his face. Gepard once saw him dodge a Fragmentum monster and literally let it cut across his neck just to keep his face clear. He wouldn't let that happen for nothing.

Their actions in the dream itself aren't new. Sampo seems tired, run down and worn out, but he announces his presence with aplomb by lobbing a bunch of smoke bombs off the rooftops and sending his soldiers scrambling. Same shit, different day.

The new part is what he says when Gepard chases him out to the edges of the camp, tackles him into the snow. Gepard pins him to the frozen ground to detain him and Sampo doesn't even fight it, just looks up at him like he's seeing sunrise for the first time in months.

"I'll be home in one week."

What is it that the Rat Grinders actually want exactly? Or at least, what does Kipperlilly want since she's the one we know the most about.

At the top of the season it seemed like she wanted to Be The Best at school and Be Recognized in a very Tracy Flick/Sara Berry kind of way and was just going to crazy lengths to get there because this is a world where you help a dragon kidnap girls so you can be Prom Queen and life goes on. But now we know that the Rat Grinders are a part of Porter's larger plan and one of the major steps of that plan is completely abolishing Aguefort as an institution.

It's clear what Porter gets out of this. He gets to be a god and he gets to continue his imperialistic family legacy. And I would maybe get what Kipperlilly would get out of this is she were the Cleric/Paladin of the plan. She'd get to be the new god's champion, like she was gushing to Lucy. That's maybe worth something to an achievement hunting, Type A individual.

But she's not gonna get to be the best student at Aguefort if Aguefort doesn't exist anymore. Hell, Elmville won't really exist anymore. Is Porter planning on opening a new Adventuring School in Rage Elmville and she gets to be the god Principal's pet? Does she think he's gonna make things "fair" for her somehow? How? Retroactively killing her parents? Does she want to use the powers she cheesed from the easy XP he drip fed her to be a renown adventurer? Kinda hard to pull that off when everyone knows you were part of the plan that doomed the town. Maybe she thought they were going to get away with it without being implicated? Does she literally not want anything other than a chance to kill the Bad Kids? Or even pettier, to just to be stronger than Riz? Is that worth it to her? To damn the whole town just so she can say that she beat Riz once? Did she want something concrete at one point but at this point she's just lost in the sauce and doing whatever the next task is without knowing what she'd even do with a victory if she got it? Did she already get what she wanted in the free XP and now she's just paying her end of the bargain?

I'm just very unsure about what her version of a happy ending is here.

i'm a couple of doors into the mystery labyrinth, and it's getting a little annoying having shinigami and yuma go "but how could this have happened? who could have done this?" when i literally knew it was yakou as soon as the game told me that the poison had a delay. this is so silly like "how could anyone have got past this, they would have died in thirty minutes!" ok! narrow your suspect pool to people who die in the next thirty minutes then! damn!!!
